Small fen dominated by Carex. Several shrub zones of Cornus and a large wooded zone of Tamarack, Cornus, and poplur. Autumn olive encroaching on edges and some within fen on northern side. Nirdlingers maintain surrounding prairie. Homeowner to north manacures land in the lawn fashion to the edge of his property. On southern side of fen, a few meters south from a willow tree overhanging a pond or start of "river." inside of a willow and dogwood thicket. Listening to deer call. There are several dead shrubs and stumps. Ground is wet and covered in moss. Puddles form in well tracked areas. Dominate vegetation is Salix, Cornus, Carex, but Carex not that abundant, more moss.
Clumped, 3-5 individuals per m2 for 20m2. Found on peat hummocks on very moist to wet soil. Found near asters, sedges, and Eutrochium maculatum.
