Locality: United States, Texas, Starr, In large ravine between Sullivan City & Rio Grande. Elev. 100 m.
Habitat: A rigid zigzag shrub 2 meters high. Perennial. Clay soil; Flowers in clusters on side of twigs. Greenish color; leaves alternate or mostly clustered, oval-oblong, ovate. Greenish-gray bark; abundant in the flats and ravines in silty clay soil.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
