A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. In northeastern border of fen, 20m south of thick peat mat. Had to walk through dense Toxicodendron vernix and dense Toxicodendron radicans to get here. Still sitting in it. Typha, Lythrum salicaria, and Sparganium populated area/pond. Some tamarack canopy (<5%) with Toxicodendron vernix, Quercus, Frangula alnus, Salix, Rhamnus alnifolia, subcanopy. Ground level is Poaceae and ferns mostly. Ground with some hummocks (10-25m).
Population - Up to 4m tall, taller shrubs have fruits.
