Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Sedge meadow; about 4m east of stream; some shrubby invasion from Frangula alnus; other shrubs include Physocarpus, Cornus sericea, Betula pumila, Corylus, and Viburnum nudum. Shrubs not dominant, however Dasiphora very common. Many Carex spp. And Schoenoplectus. Some gully formation, but likely not going to be a problem.
