Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. In northwestern portion of prairie fen, 70m south of northern border, 100m east of Grand River and bridge on Jackson County property. Sedge meadow with Asteraceae and Pycnanthemum virginianum. Invaded by Lythrum salicaria and Frangula alnus. Many 10m tall Larix laricina, Cornus, and Toxicodendron vernix over 2m. Shrubs under 2m found every 1-4m2. Ground hummocky and wet.
Population - Clumped, common, not dominant. Seen with Lycopus americanus on moist soil. 2-5 per 1m2 for 10m2. Also with Galium asperellum, Carex, Solidago patula.
