Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Sedge meadow zone with relatively little shrub encroachment; on a raised portion of fen (hill?) Many 2013 grass culms standing. Dasiphora fruticosa abundant; some Frangula alnus saplings, but not yet dominating; many Eleocharis spp. In area. Soil moist but not inundated.
