Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Grass dominated zone with heavy Frangula alnus encroachment; located in northern portion of prairie fen with significant number of Larix laricina trees up to 12m tall; common species in include Dasiphora fruticosa, Andropogon gerardii, Thelypteris palustris, and Valeriana uliginosa. Sporobolus heterolepis possibly in area (none flowering to confirm in field); ground moist but not wet with some marl layers deeper down.
