Small fen located between two lakes. Remnant patch of prairie fen with majorly altered hydrology due to historic marl mining. Water table lowered dramatically, which results in much drier soils. Very marly area dominated by prairie grasses. Slightly weedy depression in middle of prairie fen; dominate by Carex stricta, Solidago gigantea, and Frangula alnus; this area also features Euthamia graminifolia, Clematis virginicum, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Doellingeria umbellata, and Thelypteris palustris. Ground moist and more organic; located about 20m east of medium sized Quercus tree and 15m west of large Juniperus.
