Very long heterogenous fen with marked spots of high diversity and other large weedy zones. Fen elevated on norther and southern margins and depressed near central lakes (2). Bordered on north by woodland as well as on southern edge, but southern edge has a railroad and nearby row-crop agriculture. Typhaspp. appear to be heavily impacting fen. Sorghastrum nutans and Dasiphora fruticosa are the two most common species in this area. Located about 10m east of small creek and about 40m east of oak island; this diverse quadrat features Thalictrum dasycarpum, Salix spp., Hypoxis hirsuta, Carex sterilis, Packer paupercula, and Galium boreale. Ground hummocky and moist between hummocks. Frangula alnus threatens this area with some saplings.
