Amoeboid fen on either side of Shiawassee River. Significantly encroached, few open areas remain. Some portions appear to be high quality Poweshiek habitat Sedge/grass open meadow with many short Betula pumila shurbs. Dasiphora fruticosa is even more common. Cyperaceae include a dominate layer of Schoenoplectus acutus and Carex sterilis. Muhlenbergia glomerata is present. Other species include Hypoxis hirsuta, Lysimachia quadriflora, Galium boreale, and Symphyotrichum lanceolatum. Ground moist and hummocky.
