Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Weedy area adjacent to woodland. Dominated by Typha latifolia, Impatiens capensis, and Carex lacustris. Others include Pilea pumila, Solanum dulcamara and Rumex orbiculatus. Ground boggy and inundated.
Flowers -purple corolla with yellow fused anthers; petals recurve.Common; about 2-5 per sq. m for 10 sq. m; growing with Impatiens capensis, Cornus sericea, and Pilea pumila. Currently in flower and growing up to 60 cm tall on inundated mucky, boggy grou
