Flower diameter 40-54 mm, length 60-67 mm, stigma number 9-11, stigma color dark green, outer perianth color pink with brown mid-stripe; inner perianth color magenta; small beetles present in flowers. Ribs 13, spines gray-beige brown with dark tips; fruits magenta, golden, dryish to fleshy, diameter 12-18 mm, length 21-29 mm, seeds black, small; spines, fruits and spines collected by R. Trelease and N. Foisy, 2 July 2002.
