Perennials,
0.5-3.5 cm (mat-forming); taprooted (taproots weakly developed, often not evident), caudices with system of relatively slender, basal offsets and slender, woody rhizomes (1-15 cm).
Stems
(bases greenish) decumbent to ascending (flowering erect, scapiform), sparsely strigose, eglandular.
Leaves
basal (persistent); blades (bases greenish) spatulate (often folding), 5-12 × 1-3.5 mm, margins entire, faces glabrous or sparsely strigose, eglandular.

Phyllaries
in 3-4(-5) series (erect, apices appressed), glabrous or sparsely strigose, sometimes minutely glandular.

10-20; corollas white, 5.5-9 mm, laminae reflexing.

Cypselae
1.5-1.8 mm, 2(-3)-nerved, faces sparsely strigose;
